The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to the inmost parts.
1. There are traps all around us and they are attractive and effective, but the trap of gossip can be especially painful to others and easy to fall into. What are some specific ways you have seen and experienced gossip affecting our culture?
2. Read through the verses below and discuss some ways you can see gossip coming and what makes gossip so attractive?
Proverbs 16:28
A perverse person stirs up conflict, and a gossip separates close friends.
Proverbs 18:21
The tongue can bring life or death; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.
Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
