Mark 15:33-34
33 At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. 34 And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).
1. Is there a time in your life that you experienced pain or loneliness? A ‘dark night of the soul’ moment.
2. How are you or how have you responded to God and others in difficult times when you have felt forsaken or lonely? What are some characteristics of God that you can trust in?
3. Read Psalm 22. This Psalm is the message Jesus was leading his people to think upon and remember as He cried out to God saying, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” In what ways can you apply this passage to your circumstances?
