Proverbs 13:4
A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.

Proverbs 21:25
The craving of a sluggard will be the death of him, because his hands
refuse to work.

Proverbs 15:19
The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway.

Proverbs 22:13
The sluggard says, “There’s a lion outside! I’ll be killed in the public square!”

Proverbs 20:4
Sluggards do not plow in season; so at harvest time they look but find nothing.

Proverbs 6:6-8
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.

1. Describe a time in your life when you worked hard at something and were very diligent. What was the end result?

2. What are some characteristics and consequences of a sluggard vs being diligent?

3. Pastor Scotty discussed one way to choose diligence is by determining the difference between what you want now and what you want most. What is something you value long term? What is one small decision you can consistently commit to that will help you to be diligent in pursuing what you want most?
