Discussion Questions
- In Matthew 3:1-17 we see Jesus as King, humble and obedient. What is your initial response to Jesus, our King, being baptized by John? What do you think your response to Jesus would have been (obedience, pride, humility)?
- “You do You”, is an expression to say do what you think is best. Are you facing, or have you faced choices or circumstances in your life that the idea of “just do what is best for you” is intersecting with what God may be asking you to do?
- Our humility is expressed by our obedience. In this passage we see Jesus, in humility, travel to the Jordan to be baptized by John. Go back to John 14:21, is there a next step in your life God is prompting you to take in obedience? What potentially could keep you from taking that step in obedience?
