1 Corinthians 12:13 — But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit.
1. Have you been around a family that you were just drawn to? What about a family that you were not drawn to? What qualities and characteristics did these families have that made them different?
2. When considering the ministry of the Holy Spirit and prayer in our own lives and families, we looked at three responses we can have to the Spirit. We are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are not to ‘quench’ the Spirit and do not grieve the Spirit. Below, go through each one and discuss with your group.
Be Filled With The Spirit.
Ephesians 6:18 — Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
3. Is there anything in your life that is taking the place of the Holy Spirit or something that you are choosing over Christ?
Do Not *Quench The Spirit.*
1 Thessalonians 5:19 — Do not quench the Spirit.
4. God’s desire is for you because of His deep love for you. How might you be quieting the voice and presence of God?
Do Not Grieve The Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 4:30 — And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
5. What does it mean to grieve the Holy Spirit? What actions grieve the Holy Spirit?
6. What is one action step you can take this week that will strengthen you and your family?

This week make a plan and set aside time to pray for your family, whether it is your immediate family or your family of God. We are one family because of the work of the Holy Spirit.
