Journey Christmas Store

December 10, 2020 - December 12, 2020

Empowering Parents and Guardians to be the Heroes of Christmas.

The Christmas Store is an event Journey hosts to serve our local community during the holiday season. Families who find themselves struggling financially or anxious about how to pay for Christmas are invited to shop for their children’s gifts at a reduced cost. We have also expanded the Christmas Store to include an Outerwear Shop this year where families can find outerwear items such as coats, gloves, hats and more for everyone in their home.

With the enormous impact Covid-19 has had in our community, the need to support families will be greater than ever this Christmas season. Our goal is to serve 200 families from Castle Rock and surrounding areas in 2020, but we cannot reach this goal without your help!

3 Ways to Get Involved

We would love to have you volunteer at the Christmas Store! Currently our serving opportunities are full. However, if we find we need to add additional volunteer opportunities, we ask that you fill out the volunteer waitlist form below.

Volunteer Waitlist

Your financial generosity will allow us to purchase any additional gifts not collected through our church and community toy drives and help provide for store costs, such as goody bags and crafts to be sent home for each kid shopped for. A tax-deductible gift of $150 empowers one family to provide their children with a magical Christmas.

Shopping at the Christmas Store

With the difficult economic times and uncertainty brought on by Covid-19, we know the need for the Christmas Store will be greater than ever and have a broader audience as more people are dealing with job loss and pay cuts. If you, or a family you know, are struggling this season, we invite you to shop for your children’s gifts at the Christmas Store this year. You do not need to qualify to be a Christmas Store Shopper Family, simply complete the online registration form to join us during our private, invite only shopping session on Thursday, December 10, 4:30—7:30pm.

What to Expect in 2020

The safety of shoppers and volunteers is our highest priority. To ensure this, the Christmas Store will look different in 2020 than in past years. Perhaps the biggest changes are the store will be hosted at Journey Church, not in schools, and we will be spreading shopping times over three days to accommodate families in-person, while still respecting social distance guidelines. For the health and safety of everyone attending the Christmas Store, we are complying with Governor Polis’ Executive Order asking everyone in attendance (11 and up) to wear a mask while inside our church building. Lastly, in an effort to limit the number of people inside the building, we will not be able to offer childcare for volunteer families. Thank you for your flexibility as we navigate the logistics of hosting the Christmas Store during this unique time.
