Warm-Up

1. Where have you seen God at work this week?

2. What is something important that you tend to forget unless someone reminds you of it?

3. What is one decision or circumstance in your life that completely changed your direction?

Message Summary

Deuteronomy is the “second law,” given by Moses to the Wilderness Generation as they prepare to enter the Promised Land. It reminds Israel not to forget God’s past faithfulness (Ch. 1–11), calls them to live as a set apart and holy people marked by justice, mercy, and faith (Ch. 12–26), and challenges them to choose life by loving and obeying God (Ch. 27–34). The book emphasizes teaching God’s Word continually—at home, on the road, morning, and night—and highlights each generation’s responsibility to know God and lead others. Ultimately, while Moses leads Israel to the edge of the land, Jesus is the one who leads us all the way home.

Know It

Read Deuteronomy 6, focusing on verses 4-9, and Mathew 23:23.

1. What themes and scripture stand out to you from chapter 6? What questions do you have?

2. From Numbers, which moment from Israel’s history (Passover, 12 spies, Moses striking the rock) stands out to you most, and why?

3. Deuteronomy 14:2 says Israel is God’s “special treasure.” What does it mean for you to be set apart for God today?

4. How do you see God’s emphasis on justice, mercy, and faith reflected in Jesus’ words in Matthew 23:23?

Own It

1. How have you seen God’s faithfulness in your life? Can you give an example that is an instrumental piece of your testimony?

Read Deuteronomy 5:28-33 – How have you seen His faithfulness during times of your obedience? How have you seen it despite your disobedience?

2. How have you seen God’s justice and mercy in your life? How have you been able to show justice and mercy to others?

How have you seen these first five books of the Bible point back to Jesus?

Next Steps

1. Are you currently in the “wilderness,” “Egypt,” or “Moses” generation? How can you teach or learn from the generations coming after or before you?

How is the Lord calling you to serve and be a part of your community?

2. What is your biggest takeaway from the Binge the Bible series?

Based on what you’ve learned and discussed over the past five weeks, what next step is the Lord calling you to implement?
