Discussion Questions
Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
What is the difference between a peacemaker and a peacekeeper? As you discuss, keep in mind how Geoff explained that being a peacekeeper is passive while a peacemaker is an active role.
Being a peacemaker requires active participation and effort, and we can see this played out in Romans 14:1-22.
Review these verses and consider these questions:
- What does God say about how to be a peacemaker?
- How does God direct us moving forward?
The bottom line of peace making is: the motivation is love, the goal is reconciliation and the price is sacrifice.
Consider these questions:
- How can you be a peacemaker in your circle of influence? This can be in your family, your friends or your work environment.
- What are ways you can be a peacemaker this week?
Matthew 5:10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
