John 8:32
“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
2 Corinthians 12:7-9
“To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
Romans 8:28
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
1. Discuss John 8:32 – what is ‘the truth’ that John is referring to?
2. It is possible to know God’s truth and still wrestle with negative thoughts, pain or the frustrations all around us. What lies have you faced or believe about yourself or God?
3. God desires for us to know and believe His truth; the truth about who He is and who He says we are. What truths can you begin to speak out loud to combat some of the lies you may be facing?
