Isaiah 6:8
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Mark 4:26-29
26 He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. 27 Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. 28 All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. 29 As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”
1. When thinking about the future, what are some things that you hope for? This could be in regards to habits, relationships, spiritually or in your current family and future generations.
2. When seeds are planted it is important to tend and nurture and we have to be aware of sin and difficulties that can hinder growth. What are some weeds in your life that might be affecting growth?
3. Verse 29 ends with the reminder that the harvest has come. What harvest have you experienced because of your faithfulness or the sowing of someone else in your life?
Psalm 126:6
Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them.
4. God is asking all of us to sow seeds in our lives. In response to this parable, what are some seeds you can begin planting?
