John 16:33
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Acts 8:23
For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin.
1. What are some ways you have responded to disappointment, frustrations or hurt over the years?
2. What are the truths in John 16:33? What does the end of this verse mean to you, “But take heart! I have overcome the world.”?
3. It can be difficult to heal from hurt and pain in our lives. What can we do to begin to work through hurt in our lives? What can happen if we leave hurt and disappointment unattended to fester?
4. When facing hurt and pain, what benefits can come from acknowledging the hurt, bringing it to God and dealing with the root?
Ephesians 4:26-27
In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.
