Observation & Discussion (30 Minutes)
Leviticus 6:12-13 — The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire … The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.
- Throughout scripture, what does fire represent?
- In this passage who is God speaking to and why? Read verses 8-11 for more context.
- Keeping the fire is a direct command from God and there is symbolism as well. What does it take to start a fire and keep it going? How do these key steps relate directly to our walk with God?
- How does a ‘never ending fire’ translate into your relationship with God?
- Small steps and consistency are key to ‘keeping the fire’ in your life living and active. What disciplines would you like to add or keep growing in to ensure your spiritual ‘fire’ continues to burn?
