Wednesday Night Discussion Questions
Series: The Book of James
Topic: James 1—”Fair-Weather Christians”
Speaker: Nathan Sell, Middle School Pastor
Date: September 7, 2022
Overview:
In James 1, James points out what it looks like to be a committed disciple of Christ. He compares those who are fully committed to those who are halfway following Christ, or who are “Fair-Weather Christians”. A “Fair-Weather Christian” is someone who only follows Christ when it is convenient, comfortable, and leads to blessings. A question we must ask ourselves is whether or not we are committed to Christ in the hard times, just as we are when life is easy. Are we people who endure and rely on God through hardship, are fully committed and loyal to Christ, and are we people who are obedient to God’s Word? In James 1, we learn that committed disciples… 1.) Endure 2.) Are Loyal and Committed 3.) Obey
