Darius joined the Army National Guard February 16, 2017. He has served in the Special Operation community for most of his Army career. Prior to joining the Army, he has partnered or led in starting three new churches. He is currently participating in his fourth such endeavor. He has degrees from University of Colorado (BA), Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (MTS), and a Doctorate in Ministry from Gateway Theological Seminary (DMin). He is currently completing a PhD in Educational Leadership at Liberty University.
Prior to pastoring, Darius played professional football for 10 years – drafted to the Green Bay Packers in ’95 (3 years), Detroit/Kansas City ’98, Cleveland Browns ’99 (3 years), Minnesota Vikings ’02, and Denver Broncos ’03-04. Because of his leadership, his Denver Broncos teammates named him player representative prior to his retirement in 2005. Darius also ran his own real estate business for over 10 years. In that time, he engaged in over $25 million in property. He has served on several school boards, and community initiatives. Recently, he has provided leadership in designing training to special operations warriors prior to traumatic or moral injury to lessen the effects of war. Towards this effort he has designed and provided leadership in ethical, moral and resiliency training that has impacted hundreds of soldiers. He and his wife Amber have 5 children.
