“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Matthew 11:28-29
It’s not uncommon that we often feel the weight of life. Sometimes this pressure we feel is of no fault of our own…but there are also times where the pressure we feel has been brought on by ourselves. Jesus encourages us to come to him, and that He will give us rest. But in order to experience this, He said we must learn from him.
Many times we can learn from what Jesus did do, but there are also a lot of things we can learn from what Jesus didn’t do. If we can be teachable and learn from the things that Jesus didn’t do, then some of the life pressures we have placed on ourselves will be lifted.
• Jesus was never in a hurry (Luke 8:40-50)
• Jesus never chased anybody (John 13:21-30)
• Jesus never condemned any one. (John 3:16-17 and John 8:1-11)
