As we finish our marriage teaching series, You. Me. We., Pastor Scotty Priest emphasizes how to love one another through mutual submission. “It’s Mutual” is the centerpiece and foundation for Christian married couple. It’s a dance back and forth of honoring and submitting to one another, and often we forget that our choices lead, feelings follow.
The best marriages are a mutual submission contest. “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ . . . Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. . . Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her . . . In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.” Ephesians 5:21-28
